When we were choosing what song we wanted to pick we used a web diagram to allow us to see the key factors of that song and whether or not the song was right for us to choose. These factors were, music includes different sections/ chapters, changes in intensity, distinct beat, good quality recording, significant lyric, broad genre. The songs we looked at were:
19 again - Shiners
Tidal wave - Tempesst (our chosen song)Sometimes - Family friends
If the birds wish to fly, let them fly - Corey Bowen
There are strengths and weaknesses of every song such as:
Strengths:
- Has a distinct beat.
- Has a varied selection of genres indie/ psychedelic/ rock which allows us to be broad with the music video and we don't have to stick to conventions of one genre.
- Has very good recording quality.
- Has a repeated lyric "if birds wish to fly you should let them fly" which can enable us to make references to this and have a narrative which can link to this.
Weaknesses:
- Doesn't have a lot of chapters too the song and lacks depth.
- Very repetitive so lacks a mood change.
Strengths:
- Very good recording quality
- Has a lyric that is repeated

- Not a lot of chapters that can have a change to mood to them.
Strengths:
- Has a very distinct and individual beat.
- Lyrics that have an abstract meaning so can be used in various ways.
- Changes of tempo and clear chapter changes that allow a narrative change.
Weaknesses:
- Lyrics are very hard to understand so will be hard to link with them.
- Song may take too long to change chapters so the narrative might be too slow paced.
Strengths:
- Distinct changes in chapters.
- The instruments change and come together in different variations.
Weaknesses:
- Beat inst very individual or distinctive.
- Chapters take a while to get into.
Strengths:
- clear chapters are used.
- Beat is very individual and distinctive
Weaknesses:
- Song has no place where it hits its peak, just plain the whole way through and can be seen as boring.
Well done for embedding the songs, however, I feel you could develop the bullet points where you explore the pros and cons of each song. It seems you repeat the same ideas with linking them specifically to the song in question.
